Terabyte
A terabyte is a unit of digital information equal to 1,024 gigabytes or approximately 1 trillion bytes. It is used to measure hard drive capacities, cloud storage, and large data sets.
History
Terabyte-capacity drives became available to consumers in the late 2000s. Today, modern hard drives commonly hold 1-20 TB. Major cloud services store exabytes (1,000 TB) of data, and global internet traffic is measured in zettabytes annually.
