Cubic Foot
A cubic foot is an imperial unit of volume equal to the volume of a cube with edges one foot long, or approximately 28.317 liters. It is commonly used in the United States for measuring natural gas consumption, shipping containers, and refrigerator capacity.
History
The cubic foot has been used as a unit of measurement in English-speaking countries for centuries. In the natural gas industry, the standard unit of measurement is the MCF (thousand cubic feet). It is also used to measure luggage compartment volumes in vehicles.
