Milliliter
A milliliter is a metric unit of volume equal to one thousandth of a liter or one cubic centimeter. It is commonly used for measuring liquid medicines, cooking ingredients, and beverage serving sizes.
History
The milliliter was introduced as part of the metric system. It is equivalent to one cubic centimeter (cc), a term still used in medicine. One milliliter of water at 4°C has a mass of approximately one gram, making metric volume and mass conversions intuitive.
