Miles per Hour
Miles per hour is a unit of speed expressing the number of miles traveled in one hour. It is the standard unit for vehicle speed limits and speedometers in the United States, United Kingdom, and a few other countries.
History
Miles per hour became widely used with the advent of automobile travel in the early 20th century. The US and UK use mph for all road speed limits. The highest speed limit in the United States is 85 mph on a stretch of Texas State Highway 130.
