Foot-pounds per Second
Foot-pounds per second is an imperial unit of power measuring the rate of work done. One foot-pound per second equals the energy transferred when one pound of force moves an object one foot in one second.
History
Foot-pounds per second is derived from the fundamental imperial units of force (pound-force) and distance (foot). It predates the horsepower and watt as a unit of power measurement. One horsepower equals 550 foot-pounds per second.
